Spicy Brisket Bahn Mi Style Sandwich

Ingredients

Recipe makes 10 Servings

3 serrano peppers, tops removed, seeded if desired
7 cloves of garlic
1/3 cup(s) ginger, chopped
1/2 cup(s) shallots, chopped
1 large lime, zested and juiced
1 Tbsp cumin
1 Tbsp coriander
1 1/2 Tbsp kosher salt, plus more as needed to taste
1 1/2 Tbsp cracked black pepper, plus more as needed to taste
1 bunch cilantro, chopped
1/3 cup(s) extra virgin olive oil
5 Lb brisket flat
1 bakery fresh baguette
1/4 cup(s) unsalted butter, softened at room temp

Instructions

In a food processor, combine serranos, garlic, ginger, shallots, lime zest and juice, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper, cilantro and olive oil. Blend until smooth then set aside.

Rub brisket completely with marinade and place into container, cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours.

Preheat oven to 325ºF.

Place brisket into an oven safe dish, cover with foil and cook at 325ºF for 1 hour, turn heat up to 350ºF and cook an additional 2 hours.

Remove from oven and allow to cool at least 30 minutes covered. Slice brisket thinly, toast baguette and slice in half lengthwise.

Butter each slice of bread, then add about an ounce of brisket and top with your favorite pickled veggies and condiments. Repeat this process with each sandwich.
