Serves 6
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup White onion(s), diced
- 2 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese, plus more as needed
- 28 oz Italian San Marzano Tomatoes
- 1/4 cup Olive oil
- 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes, plus more as needed
- 1 Fresh garlic clove(s), sliced
- 1 lb Bucatini Pasta, prepared according to package directions minus two minutes and reserve 1 cup of water
- 1/3 cup Basil, chopped
Instructions
- Reduce heat to medium-low. add tomatoes and and cook for 5 to 8 minutes.
- In a large skillet or pot set over medium heat, add olive oil. Once shimmering add onion and pepper; when it starts to brown, add the garlic and cook for a minute.
- Add prepared pasta (any pasta) and 3 tablespoons of cooking water (you can add more water if you like the sauce thinner).
- Mix until combined and then add butter, half of the cheese and half of the basil; mix until cheese is fully integrated.
- Remove from heat and garnish with remaining basil and cheese before serving.
