Instructions

1
Heat half the oil in a large skillet on medium-high. Carefully add frozen hash browns to hot oil (ice crystals can splatter in the hot oil).
2
Stir and cook according to package directions until fully cooked. Set aside to cool.
3
Once hash browns are cool enough to handle, cut sausage into 8 equal pieces. Mix equal parts hash browns and sausage together to form patties the same size as the biscuits.
4
Add remaining oil to skillet and cook patties on one side for about 5 minutes. Flip over and place cheese on cooked side. Cook another 5 minutes or until meat is fully cooked and potatoes are crispy.
5
Warm biscuits briefly in a 300ºF oven for 5 minutes or in a microwave for 20 seconds each.
6
Spread mustard on cut sides of biscuits. Place sausage and hash brown burgers in biscuits and serve with candied jalapeño slices if desired.
