Ingredients

Recipe makes 12 Servings

1 cup(s) sugar
14 fl oz sweetened condensed milk
12 fl oz fat-free evaporated milk
5 large eggs, beaten
3/4 cup(s) shredded coconut
1 cup(s) orange juice

Instructions

Heat oven to 325°F.

Cook sugar in a small skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until melted and golden in color.

Pour caramelized sugar into a 9x13-inch baking dish and tilt dish so that caramelized sugar is evenly spread; set aside.

Caramelized sugar will crackle as it cools.

Combine condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, coconut and orange juice in a large bowl: stir well.

Pour custard mixture into caramel coated baking dish and place inside a larger baking dish.

Fill outside baking dish halfway with water and place in center oven rack.

Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center of the flan comes out clean.

Carefully remove flan dish from hot water bath and cool on a rack.

Chill thoroughly before serving.
