Recipe makes 8 Servings

1 The Texas Pie Company Original Pie Dough Puck, thawed and set at room temperature
2 cup(s) granulated sugar
4 1/2 Tbsp all purpose flour
.1280 Tsp fresh ground nutmeg
1 1/2 cup(s) buttermilk
4 large eggs, 3 eggs for pie, 1 egg for egg wash.
1 Tbsp vanilla Extract
3 Oz salted butter, melted

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

Combine sugar, flour, and nutmeg together and mix thoroughly.

Combine buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and butter together. whisk to combine thoroughly.

Add wet mixture to dry, and whisk until batter is smooth.

Let sit for 10 minutes and roll out crust into a pie pan and crimp the edges.

Pour batter into crust and brush edges of crust with the remaining egg beaten with 1 tablespoon of water.

Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until completely set in the middle.

Pie is delicious right out of oven, but it sets and tastes better if it has at least 30 to 45 minutes to cool.

Serve with fresh whipped cream if desired.
