1 1/2 cup(s) roast beef, shredded
4 white onion, slices, cut in half and separated
2 jalapeno pepper, seeded and cut into thin strips
12 H-E-B Yellow Corn Tortillas
2 cup(s) Hill Country Fare Vegetable Shortening

Instructions

Combine shredded roast beef, onion and jalapeno strips in a medium-size bowl.

Heat tortillas until soft.

To heat tortillas in microwave, remove twist tie from package and heat in plastic bag on high for 1-2 minutes or until soft and pliable.

Spread 3 tablespoons roast beef mixture down the center of each tortilla and roll tightly, one at a time.

Secure each flauta with a toothpick and set aside.

Heat shortening in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat.

Fry 4 flautas at a time for 2 minutes, turning once during frying.

Remove flautas and place paper towels to drain
