Easy Fried Onion Rings

Recipe makes 6 Servings

4 large white onion, thickly sliced and separated into rings
3 cup(s) Hill Country Fare Canola Oil, for deep frying
1 cup(s) H-E-B Baker's Scoop All Purpose Flour
1/2 Tsp salt
1 Tsp black pepper

Instructions

Soak onion rings in ice water to cover for 30 minutes.

Pre-heat oil to 375°F in deep-fat fryer.

Drain onion rings and dry well.

Combine flour, salt, and pepper in paper or plastic bag.

Toss onion rings, a handful at a time, in seasoned flour.

Fry rings, in small batches, until they are crisp and golden, about 3 minutes or little longer per batch.

Drain on paper towels.

Keep rings hot until all are fried.

Serve as soon as possible very hot, piled in heated bowl. If serving liver, fish, or beef, place directly on meat.
