Brown Sugar Cream Biscuits

Ingredients

Recipe makes 12 Servings

3 1/2 cup(s) all purpose flour, plus more as needed for dusting dough and surfaces
6 Oz unsalted butter, 1-1/2 sticks
8 Oz cream cheese
3 Tsp kosher salt
1/3 cup(s) brown sugar
3 Tsp baking powder
1 Tsp baking soda
1 cup(s) buttermilk

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F.

In a bowl or stand mixer with paddle attachment add flour, butter and cream cheese.

Mix well to break up butter and cream cheese into pea sized pieces. Add salt, sugar, baking powder and baking soda.

Mix until everything is incorporated before adding buttermilk, then mix until dough just comes together.

Form dough into ball, sprinkle a little flour onto a work surface and roll out dough into a rectangular shape approximately 1/2 inch thick.

Cut out with biscuit cutter and place biscuits touching each other onto a sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Re-roll dough and and cut extra biscuits as needed.

Brush top of biscuits with cream and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until puffy and golden brown.

Allow to cool slightly before serving.
