Chocolate Pecan Pie

Ingredients

Recipe makes 8 Servings

1 pie crust, prepared
1 cup(s) light brown sugar, firmly packed
2/3 cup(s) light corn syrup
4 eggs, large
1 1/2 Tsp pure vanilla extract
1/4 Tsp salt
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 cup(s) semi sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cup(s) pecan pieces, chopped
7 Oz whipped topping

Instructions

Heat oven to 350°F.

Once pie crust is baked, set aside.

Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla and salt in a large mixing bowl and mix with electric mixer on medium speed for 1 minute until blended. Set aside.

Combine butter and chocolate chips in a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high power stirring every 30 seconds for 90 seconds.

Stir egg mixture and pecans into chocolate mixture, then pour into baked pie crust.

Place baking sheet with pie in oven and bake 40 to 50 minutes until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.

Cut pie into 8 slices and serve with whipped cream.
