    Safe Handling Instructions:
For your protection, keep refrigerated or frozen. Thaw in refrigerator or microwave. This product is prepared from inspected and passed meat. Some food products may contain bacteria that could cause illness if the product is mishandled or cooked improperly. Keep raw meat separated from other foods. Wash working surfaces (including cutting boards), utensils and hands after touching raw meat. Cook thoroughly and keep hot foods hot. Refrigerate leftovers immediately or discard.
  • Grill:

Heat charcoal for 40 minutes until ash-covered or gas grill for 10 minutes with lid closed. While the grill preheats, add 3 cups of water (or your favorite beer) into a 3-quart saucepan. Add bratwurst links and 1/2 large chopped onion into pan. If more liquid is needed to cover brats, add water. Bring the liquid to a simmer (don't boil). Simmer brats for 20 minutes. Discard the liquid and onion.

When the coals are ready or the gas grill is preheated, place the bratwurst on the grill about 7 - 9 inches above the heat. Grill them covered until all sides are golden-brown, approximately 10 minutes, turning frequently or until internal temperature reaches 170°F. Remove from grill and serve.
