Pear Guide

Did you know pears are high in fiber and can help lower cholesterol? From freshly sliced, baked and poached to sautéed and grilled you can add pears to many of your favorite recipes.

How to Select
Look for pears that are mature and firm.

The best indication of ripeness is to Check the Neck™ by applying gentle thumb pressure near the stem, which will yield slightly when the pear is ripe.
How to Store
Let them ripen a day or two at room temperature and when they give slightly to pressure they're ready to eat.

For best results, place them in a beautiful fruit ripening bowl on the dining room table or kitchen counter.
