Apple Guide

It's Fall Apple Season

There are many ways to enjoy fresh apples—eat them as a treat, make your own applesauce, or bake them with your favorite fall recipes. At your H-E-B Produce Department you will find a great selection of sweet to tart flavored apples. There's something for everyone, so try them all!

How to Select
Choose unbruised apples that feel firm and heavy in your hand.

There are many types from snaking to baking. Look for richly colored fruits with smooth skin and no signs of russeting—tan or brown streaky, corky, protruding marks that can be near the stem or base of the apple, caused by excessive wetness or fungus.

How to Store
Apples are best stored in the refrigerator.
