Pumpkin Family

Supplies needed: 5 decorative pumpkins, googly eyes, hot glue gun, glue sticks, felt or scrap material, decorative wheat or branches and scissors

Create your own pumpkin family to welcome your guests this Halloween. Simply stack your pumpkins and secure with hot glue. Once the glue is dry, let each family member decorate their pumpkin with eyes, clothes and decorative wheat or branches.

Pumpkin Caterpillar

Supplies needed: 5 - 6 small decorative pumpkins, poster paint, brushes, construction paper or felt, pipe cleaner, googly eyes, hot glue gun, glue sticks and scissors

This cute caterpillar makes a fun centerpiece for the table. Paint each pumpkin with poster paint. While the paint dries, cut out multicolored circles of construction paper or felt for the spots. Glue the spots onto the pumpkin, along with eyes and a mouth you can make out of the left over construction paper or felt. Twist pipe cleaner for antennae and glue onto the top of the head.

Tip: For a matte finish, use floral paint instead of poster paint.

Pumpkin Mummy

Supplies needed: medium-sized pumpkin, black construction paper, googly eyes, gauze, hot glue gun, glue sticks and scissors

Get wrapped up in the fun with this spooky pumpkin. Start by gluing the eyes and construction paper mouth onto the pumpkin. Once this is secure, wrap your pumpkin with gauze and glue at the ends.

Pumpkin Owl

Supplies needed: medium-sized pumpkin, white paint, construction paper, sunflower seeds, hot glue gun, glue sticks and scissors

In just a few steps, you can add this feathered friend to your nest. First, paint the pumpkin white. While it dries, cut out two orange circles for eyes (1 in.) and a small triangle for a beak. To make the feathers above the owl's eyes, add hot glue to the center of one seed and secure two more seeds to each side. Once you have this base, layer 3 to 4 more seeds on top of the base and set to dry. Glue on your owl's eyes and beak. Starting from the outside level, glue seeds around the owl's eyes. Once this sets, glue the inner row. Finally, glue the "feathers" you created earlier above the owl's eyes to complete your pumpkin owl.

Pumpkin Spider

Supplies needed: medium-sized pumpkin, black and white construction paper, hot glue gun, glue sticks, scissors, 8 pipe cleaners and a skewer

Create this eight-legged pumpkin in no time. Make the eyes by cutting out one large black circle (1 1/2 in.), one white circle (1 in.) and one small black circle (1/2 in.). Glue the circles on top of one another, largest at the bottom and smallest at the top, and set aside. Create a zigzag mouth out of black construction paper and set aside. Bend the pipe cleaners in an "L" shape to form the legs. Using a skewer, poke four holes along both the left and right side of the pumpkin and gently push the pipe cleaners inside each hole until they are secure. Glue on the eyes and mouth.
