H-E-B Texas Wine

Becker Vineyards Becker Vineyards and H-E-B have partnered for more than a decade to bring exceptional Texas wine from local vineyards to your table. In the early 1990s, Richard and Bunny Becker began a small wine operation making wines from vineyards planted on their farm near Fredericksburg.

Richard, a practicing endocrinologist, brought the same meticulous eye and passion for research to wine-making that he applied to his medical practice. And Bunny took bottles to local H-E-B stores for the buyers to try. That led to a visit to corporate headquarters, where H-E-B experts quickly recognized the superior quality of Becker Vineyards Wine.

Today, Becker Vineyards is acclaimed worldwide and boasts a 10,040 square-foot winery, and the largest underground wine cellar in Texas. The winery's 2008 Viognier, a succulent white with peach notes, was named as one of the "100 Best Wines to Drink Right Now" by Food and Wine Magazine in October 2010. It was the only Texas wine included on the list. This year, the 2009 Viognier was named Best Texas Wine at the prestigious Houston Livestock and Show and Rodeo.

"H-E-B has been friends and partners to us more than I ever dreamed," says Dr. Becker. "Texans love things that are Texas. Our wine has been embraced and adopted by Texans because it's a Texas product, and one they can be proud of."
