Description
Marinated in a bold and lively Southwest-style marinade, these extra thick Picanha steaks from our H-E-B Meat Market are secured onto a metal skewer for grilling. Typically a Brazilian steakhouse specialty, this type of steak is also called as a top sirloin cap and is prized for its rich beefy taste. To prepare, just toss the skewer on the barbecue and cook each side for about 10 - 15 minutes. Slide steaks off the skewer, slice against the grain and serve with your favorite sides for a gourmet-quality meal.

Safe Handling: This product was prepared from Inspected and Passed Meat and/or Poultry. Some food products may contain bacteria that could cause illness if the product is mishandled or cooked improperly. For your protection, follow these Safe Handling Instructions. Keep Refrigerated or Frozen. Thaw in refrigerator or microwave. Keep raw meat and poultry separate from other foods. Wash working surfaces (including cutting boards), utensils, and hands after touching raw meat or poultry. Cook thoroughly. Keep hot foods hot. Refrigerate leftovers immediately or discard.- Grill: Heat charcoal for 30 minutes or gas grill for 10 minutes with lid closed. Place skewer on grill and cook on medium-low heat (350°F - 375°F) for 10 - 15 minutes per side. Turn grill to high heat to sear the meat, especially the fat cap, for an additional 1 - 2 minutes per side. Remove skewer from grill when internal temperature of steaks reaches 135°F. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Slide meat off of the skewer and slice against the grain to serve. Caution: Skewer will be hot, so use tongs when handling.
Optional: Cook on a smoker at 300°F for 40 - 60 minutes, flipping steak once.
