School of Retail Management (SORM)
The School of Retail Management is a comprehensive training program open to current and prospective H-E-B Partners who are committed to a career as managers in H-E-B store operations.

The program's four phases include department-specific, on-the-job training; leadership development; financial skills training and management skills training.

To be eligible for this program, you must meet the following requirements:

  • A high level of achievement and performance in college and/or professional work.
  • Willingness to relocate.
  • A long-term career interest in H-E-B in store operations.

School of Retail Leadership (SORL)
The School of Retail Leadership is designed for college graduates and/or individuals with a minimum of one year management experience. SORL gives you practical experience through a total store overview approach that is supplemented by leadership development courses for your individual needs.

The program rotates you through a variety of in-store positions, which may include management rotations in a perishable, non-perishable and central checkout department. Your ability to master each position during the training program will direct your career track. After completing training, participants are eligible for promotions to Assistant Store Director, Store Director and Unit Director.

To be eligible for this program, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree and/or a minimum of one year management experience.
  • Strong academic record (minimum 3.0 GPA preferred).
  • High level of achievement and performance in college and/or professional work.
  • Willingness to relocate.
  • A long-term career interest in H-E-B in store operations.
