Central Market Pasta di Gragnano

The best pasta in the world comes from Gragnano, a small village nestled in the hills of Campania near southern Italy's Amalfi Coast. The village is so dedicated to the artisanal creation of pasta that the width of the streets and height of the buildings were designed to allow the breeze from the Mediterranean Sea to circulate better and facilitate drying of the pasta.

Pasta di Gragnano is made from durum semolina and fresh water from the Lattari Mountains. It is shaped by the artistry of Gragnano pasta‑makers who use bronze dies to make the surface of the pasta a rough texture, allowing it to better capture and hold sauces.

Pasta di Gragnano:
  • Made from hard-wheat semolina and water from the local Italian aquifer.
  • Pasta shapes are all typical varieties stemming from the creativity of the Gragnano pasta-makers using bronze draw-plates.
  • Production occurs in the Municipality of Gragnano in the province of Naples.
  • Protects and enhances pasta quality, and promotes the culture and traditions of the region.
