Description
H-E-B Mi Tienda Tejocotes are the main ingredient in Mexican Christmas Punch, or Ponche Navideño. Round with thin bright-yellow skin, it's the fruit of the Mexican hawthorn tree and has a sweet-sour taste. Although tejocotes can be munched on like an apple, it's usually peeled, seeded, cooked and then preserved in a heavy cinnamon-spiced syrup.
