Ingredients
Black Eyed Peas.Allergens and safety warnings
Keep frozen until ready to cook. Do not refreeze. Heat to 165ºF before consumption. Refrigerate leftovers.- Stovetop:
Bring 2 cups water to a boil over high heat. Add frozen black eyed peas and return to a boil. Cook covered for 3 minutes, then reduce to medium-low and cook for 30 – 35 minutes or to desired tenderness. Drain and season to taste. Do not overcook.
Microwave:
To cook half package: Place frozen black eyed peas and 1/2 cup water in a microwave-safe bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Cook on HIGH power for 8 – 9 minutes, stirring halfway through cooking time. Drain and season to taste. (To cook entire package, use 1 cup of water and cook on HIGH for 12 – 14 minutes.) Microwaves do vary. Adjust cooking time as necessary. Do not overcook.
