Treats For Your Dog To Gobble Up This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving treats for your dog

Thanksgiving is our time to be grateful for all the things that make our lives complete--including our furry friends. While there’s probably been lots of talk about who’ll bring the sweet potatoes, desserts—and who could forget—the turkey, a special treat for your pet may have gone by the wayside. But during this time of gratitude, show them you care in any way that counts. We have compiled a list of our favorite Thanksgiving surprises for your pet on the country’s day of thanks below.

Treats
We all know that Thanksgiving centers around food and breaking bread with those we love and that holds true for your pup as well. While it’s ok to share the tasty delights that you’ve prepared (in moderation, of course), we have some dog-approved Thanksgiving treats that will win them over.

Sweet Potato Snackers
Chop up these root vegetables into bite-sized bits, coat them in olive oil, and lay them flat on a baking sheet, and sprinkle salt and pepper atop. Then, pop them in the oven to roast at 400 for 30 minutes. When they’re done (and have cooled) they’re the perfect snack for your pup.

Veggies From The Stuffing Supply
So much prep goes into getting the stuffing just right and while you're chopping things like celery or carrots, remember that they're a tasty snack for your pup as well. But hold the onions, dogs shouldn't ingest onions.

The Main Event
It's completely fine to share things like turkey but hold the dressing. Remember to keep your portions in check to prevent illness—especially with smaller dogs.

The Leftover Lunch Plan
Depending on what you served at Thanksgiving dinner, throw turkey, veggies, and fruits together into a container for your pup and mix it up so that they'll really feel like part of the family by cleaning out the refrigerator all week long.
