28 Oz sweetened condensed milk, divided use
16 1/2 Oz Hill Country Fare Butter Recipe Moist Cake Mix
4 Oz salted butter, softened
1 2/3 cup(s) whole milk, divided use
1/3 cup(s) sour cream
3 large eggs
12 fl oz evaporated milk
1 cup(s) heavy whipping cream
1 Tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

Place one can of condensed milk in a pot of water, be sure to cover completely. Bring to a boil and cook 4 hours adding water when needed.

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

In a stand mixer combine cake mix, butter, 2/3 cup milk, sour cream and eggs. Mix on low 30 seconds and then mix on high 1 to 2 minutes.

Pour mix in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and bake 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

After cake is baked, use bottom handle of wooden spoon or skewer to press holes into cake, about one every inch or so.

Cool cake 30 minutes.

Prepare milk mixture by combining second can of condensed milk, evaporated milk, and remaining whole milk in a large bowl. Whisk to combine and chill while cake cools.

Prepare whipped cream by mixing whipping cream, vanilla and powdered sugar in a stand mixer or with a hand mixer.

Once cake is cooled, pour milk mixture equally over cake and frost with whipped cream.

Once can of sweetened condensed milk has cooked, remove from water and cool before opening then pour about half (or desired amount) over cake.

Chill cake 2 to 3 hours before serving or over night.
