Toasted Pimento Cheese Dog

Recipe makes 6 Servings

6 hot dog buns
1/2 Lb pimento cheese, (fresh from the deli)
6 beef hot dogs
2 Oz shredded cabbage
2 Oz candied jalapenos

Instructions

Set oven to broil (or hottest setting). Line a sheet pan with foil.

Slice open hot dog buns and spread evenly with about 2 tablespoons pimento cheese spread on each half.

While waiting for oven to heat, place hot dogs in a sauce pan and add just enough water to cover. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Set aside. Can also use microwave instructions if you prefer.

Broil hot dog buns until cheese is melted and buns are toasted around the edges, about 2 minutes.

Remove from oven. Place 1 hot dog in each bun and top with shredded cabbage and candied jalapenos.
