Piloncillo Ancho Chile Syrup

12 Oz Olla Express Raw Piloncillo Syrup
1 Tsp H-E-B Fine Crystals Mediterranean Sea Salt

Place ancho chiles in a medium bowl and cover with warm water. Set aside for 20 minutes to soften.

Meanwhile, add piloncillo syrup to a heavy bottom pan and add salt. Place over medium-high heat until it begins to bubble. Turn heat down to medium and continue to cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove stems and as many seeds as possible from softened chiles. Place in a blender along with reduced syrup, and blend on medium speed until smooth. Use immediately or refrigerate for later use.
