Roll out pastry onto a floured surface. Using a knife, cut pastry evenly into 8 squares.
5
Using a teaspoon, place 2 rounded spoonfuls of filling in center of each square.
6
To form each turnover, fold 1 corner of pastry dough to the opposite corner as best you can to form a triangle, then crimp edges with a fork to seal.

Add 2 tablespoon water to egg, beat, then brush over turnovers.
8
Place turnovers onto a sheet pan and bake in oven for 20 minutes or until golden browned and puffed.
9
Turnovers should cool for several minutes before serving.
