Who's Brett?

Who's Brett? He's our Senior Buyer for Grills and Coolers, and as a Texan who enjoys fishing and hunting, he's no stranger to high-performance coolers. So he sought out a way to develop our own H-E-B version that competes head-to-head with other coolers on the market, thus creating KODI Cooler.

Brett became inspired to create the KODI on his brother-in-law's fishing boat in the heat of the summer. He went to open the high-performance cooler on board but the vacuum seal kept it extremely difficult to open. So he kneeled down to unscrew the drain plug and the untethered plug dropped in the water, lost forever.

The tethered plug is not the only improvement, Brett selected tough, whitewater, kayak-grade construction material, built to last through countless hunting and fishing trips.

"We wanted to build a cooler better than the best," said Brett. "It took three years to design and produce a cooler that we were proud of and felt had distinctive features to set it apart."
