Education
Each year, H-E-B contributes $10 million to education-related programs. The H-E-B Excellence in Education program celebrates Texas educators, schools, districts and early childhood facilities that inspire a love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities.

H-E-B launched Read 3 an early childhood literacy initiative. As part of the Read 3 program, H-E-B will be accepting donations of new or gently used books for distribution to local non-profits. Look for specially marked donation bins at your H-E-B.
Health and Wellness
As the largest food retailer in the state, we want our Partners and Customers to make healthy lifestyle choices. Our goal is to make eating fresh food easy, convenient and affordable. Hunger Prevention
H-E-B Food Bank Assistance program is one of the strongest in the Nation. Last year, we delivered more than 26 million pounds of food and nonperishables worth more than $41.6 million to food banks in Texas and Mexico. Our annual Feast of Sharing dinners serve hot holiday meals to more than 250,000 people.

Energy efficiency and conservation of our natural resources are top priorities for H-E-B. Our recycling efforts alone saved more than two million trees each year, produced enough electricity to power 7,300 homes for one year and saved enough water to fill almost 2,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

Disaster Relief
During natural disasters, H-E-B deploys its H-E-B Eddie Garcia Mobile Kitchen and the Spirit of H-E-B trailer to communities in crisis. These vehicles provide on-site food preparation and transport much-needed supplies.
