Proudly Serving Texas for 110 Years - Education

Ever since we opened our first store in 1905, one thing has remained the same - our commitment to the Partners and communities we serve.

Throughout 2015, we're celebrating our 110th anniversary with a series of individual words that represents the culture at H-E-B. In May, our feature is on Education.

It's said teaching is a calling. We couldn't agree more. That's why we proudly support the outstanding educators who have dedicated themselves to making a difference in our children's lives. We do this through the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards. Each year we award more than $800,000 to passionate teachers, principals, school districts, school boards and early childhood facilities. In addition, we support education through Read 3. This early childhood literacy program has collected close to 3 million books since 2011. From the classroom to the community, we proudly answer the call by giving back over $8 million annually to Texas education.
