1 hr 20 min
15 min prep
1 hr 5 min cook

Serves 8

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream, or as needed for garnishing
  • 1/2 cup Bacon bits, or as needed for topping
  • 1 cup Medium pico de gallo, or as needed for topping nachos
  • 1/4 cup Fresh jalapeno pepper(s), diced small, plus more as needed for topping
  • 1 cup Guacamole, or as needed to garnish
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 2 lb Potato puffs, or tater tots, as many as needed for air fryer pan
  • 3 cups Shredded colby and Monterey Jack cheese, value pack
  • 1/4 cup Fresh green onion(s), chopped or diced

Instructions

  1. If using a conventional oven, preheat to 450°F. Line a sheet pan or an air fryer pan or basket with foil and set aside briefly.
  2. In a bowl, combine frozen potato puffs with cumin, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper and toss well to coat. Place on prepared pan or in air fryer basket.
  3. Bake 30 to 45 minutes or until potatoes are nicely browned and crispy, or use air fryer "French fry" setting and cook until just crispy.
  4. Cover tots evenly with cheese, pico de gallo, bacon bits, and jalapeños.
  5. Return to oven or air fryer and cook just long enough for cheese to melt completely, approximately 10 to 15 more minutes.
  6. Let nachos cool slightly. Serve with sour cream, guacamole, and green onions as desired.
  7. Chef's Note: Not all air fryers have the same capacity. Adjust recipe as needed to fit your particular air fryer.
