The Perfect Breakfast Sandwich

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 4 Large eggs
  • 1/4 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 lb Pork breakfast sausage, flattened into 4 patties
  • 8 slices H-E-B French Toast Breakfast Bread
  • 4 slices Sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3 tbsp Unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. On a griddle or in a large pan over medium-high heat, add sausage patties and cook for 5 minutes per side or until cooked through.
  2. Meanwhile, place a griddle or large pan over medium heat and add butter. When melted, add bread and toast for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Flip bread and add cheese slices to 4 of the bread slices. Let cheese melt for an additional 4 minutes while the other 4 slices toast on the second side.
  4. Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and spray with non-stick spray. Add eggs, season with salt, and cook sunny side up.
  5. To assemble breakfast sandwiches, lay sausage patties on melted cheese, top each with a sunny side up egg and finish with toast.
