Texas Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 4 cups All purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 4 tsp Double acting baking powder

Instructions

  1. Using a hand mixer or counter-top mixer cream butter and sugar together.
  2. Add eggs one at a time and beat into creamed butter and sugar. Add vanilla into butter mixture and beat until mixture is smooth.
  3. In a bowl mix all dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture. Thoroughly mix together to form a smooth dough.
  4. Chill for one hour before baking.
  5. When ready to bake cookies, preheat oven to 350ᵒF. Roll out dough on a floured surface to ¼ inch thick. Cut into desired shapes and bake until golden brown (about 9 - 12 minutes, depending on size and shape of cookie cutters used).
