Texas Style Oven Smoked Brisket

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Liquid smoke
  • 6 tbsp Texas Brisket Rub
  • 4 tbsp Adams Reserve Smoked Mustard Rub
  • 4 lb Packer style beef brisket

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250ºF. Add 3 cups water and liquid smoke to the bottom of a large roasting pan with a rack.
  2. Combine Texas brisket rub and smoked mustard rub in a small bowl. Rub mixture over entire surface of brisket, including the sides.
  3. Lay brisket on rack and cover pan tightly with foil. Insert an oven safe thermometer through the foil into thickest part of brisket. Be careful not to rip the foil.
  4. Slow roast in oven until internal temperature reaches 155ºF. Remove foil and continue roasting until internal temperature reaches 165ºF.
  5. Remove from oven and rest for 20 minutes, covered loosely with foil to maintain heat.
  6. Cut into thin slices with the grain of the meat, and serve with your favorite sides.
