Sweet and Spicy BBQ Pulled Pork

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Adkins Western Style Barbecue Seasoning
  • 4 lb Pork butt roast
  • 8 oz Red onions, sliced
  • 28 oz Sweet and spicy barbeque sauce, divided use
  • 14 oz Water

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, seasoning and pork butt, turning pork to coat on all sides.
  3. Brown pork on all sides, about 4 minutes per side.
  4. Place pork in slow cooker with red onions, 1 bottle of bbq sauce and water. Cook on low for 8 hours.
  5. Once pork is pull apart tender, cool slightly and shred with tongs and mix with remaining BBQ sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  6. Chef's Note: Serve on slider buns or burger buns with pickles, red onions or a slaw.
