Spicy Sake Braised Beets

Ingredients
- 4 Medium beets
- 1/3 cup Sake
- 1 tsp Spicy Asian Pepper Spice Blend
- 1/4 tsp Kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp Pure Cane Sugar
- 1 tbsp Fresh mint, finely chopped
- 2 tsp Fresh Thai basil, finely chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375ºF.
- Place beets in a large bowl of water and scrub well to remove any dirt from the surface. Peel and cut into large chunks (fourths or eighths, depending on size of beets). Transfer to a shallow casserole dish.
- Mix sake, Spicy Asian Pepper seasoning, salt and sugar together. Pour evenly over beets.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until tender. Garnish with mint and Thai basil, and serve.
