Spicy Ground Beef Tostadas

Ingredients

  • 1 Vegetable oil no stick cooking spray
  • 16 oz H-E-B 93% Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 tbsp Hill Country Fare Chili Powder
  • 3 H-E-B Peeled Garlic Cloves, chopped
  • 1 cup H-E-B Fresh Cut Ingredient Diced Onion
  • 1 Jalapeño pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 Large Roma tomato, chopped
  • 1/8 tsp H-E-B Kosher Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 12 H-E-B Baked Tostadas
  • 4 cups Iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 8 oz H-E-B Select Ingredients Mild Cheddar Cheese, Shredded

Instructions

  1. Heat heavy bottom skillet over high heat 3 minutes.
  2. Spray skillet with non-stick cooking spray, add ground beef and stir-fry 3 minutes, while breaking up meat.
  3. Add chili powder, garlic, and onions.
  4. Continue to cook 4 minutes or until beef begins to brown.
  5. Add jalapeño and tomato.
  6. Reduce heat to medium, cook 10 minutes, and season with salt and pepper.
  7. To assemble, place 2 tostadas on a plate and top with 1/2 cup lettuce, 1/3 cup beef and 1/4 cup cheese.
