Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca

Unsaved Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes, or as needed for spice
  • 2 oz Flat anchovies, oil drained
  • 1/4 cup Fresh garlic, thinly sliced
  • 28 oz Whole peeled Datterino tomatoes, item code not available yet.
  • 1 cup Pitted Kalamata olives, roughly chopped
  • 1/3 cup Capers, drained
  • 16 oz Bronze cut spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup Fresh parsley, roughly chopped

Instructions

  1. Set a large sauté pan over medium heat. Add olive oil and red pepper flakes and cook for 1 minute.
  2. Add anchovies, breaking them up with a wooden spoon or spatula, and cook until they dissolve into a paste. Add garlic, sauté until just starting to turn a light tan color, then add tomatoes, olives and capers.
  3. Bring sauce to a simmer then reduce heat to low and cook for at least 10 to 15 minutes. While sauce simmers, cook pasta according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
  4. Add cooked spaghetti and parsley to sauce, toss to coat and season to taste. Serve immediately.
