5 min prep
25 min cook
Serves 8
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb Fresh green beans, cut into thirds
- 1 cup Red onions, finely diced
- 3 slices Bacon, finely chopped
- 10.5 oz Cream of Chicken Condensed Soup
- 1 cup Whole milk
- 1 cup French Fried Onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400ºF.
- Heat a 10 inch oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat (cast iron works great for this).
- Fill skillet half way with water and bring to a boil. Meanwhile, cut beans in thirds (or to desired length).
- Add beans to boiling water. Stir and cook beans for 4 to 5 minutes. Beans should be tender/firm. Remove beans from pan and drain any excess water.
- Add onions and bacon to pan. Sauté until bacon is cooked and onions are softened, or about 5 minutes.
- Add soup and milk to pan and stir well to combine. Add beans back into pan and stir to coat.
- Sprinkle fried onions over the top in an even layer and place pan in oven for 15 minutes, uncovered just to toast onions and finish cooking beans.
