Salted Crème Brulée Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla bean paste
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 lb Salted butter

Instructions

  1. Set a medium sized stainless steel pot over medium low heat; melt butter.
  2. Add brown sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla bean paste.
  3. Turn up heat to medium and whisk constantly to avoid scorching bottom of sauce.
  4. Continue to whisk until sauce starts to thicken slightly.
  5. Turn heat back down to low, then cook until large bubbles form and sauce resembles a loose caramel.
  6. Allow sauce to cool and drizzle over pancakes, waffles, brownies, pies, or anything you want.
  7. Total cooking time is between 20 to 25 minutes to achieve optimal thickness.
