Salsa à la Pizza

Ingredients
- 28 oz Canned crushed tomatoes with basil
- 1 1/2 tsp Kosher or sea salt, or as needed to taste
- 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp Dried oregano, or as needed to taste
Instructions
- Empty tomatoes into a bowl and gently crush, removing and discarding seeds from each. Place all tomato pulp back into bowl along with any collected juices.
- Add salt, olive oil and oregano and whisk to combine. Season to taste as needed.
- Transfer to a plastic container, seal and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld before using.
- Chef's Note: Best for use use on pizza, but additionally it can be added to give body to soups for added flavor.
