Roasted Garlic Pepper Steaks

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Garlic cloves, peeled
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 Medium New York strip steaks
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp Coarse ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Toss garlic in olive oil and place on prepared sheet pan. Place in oven and cook for 15 to 20 minutes until garlic is browned and very soft. Remove from oven and mash into a paste with a fork. Set aside.
  3. Heat a skillet or a grill to medium-high heat. Season each steak with 1/2 tsp of salt. Cook on one side for 3 minutes or until nicely browned.
  4. Flip steaks, spread half of garlic paste on top of each, and sprinkle with pepper. Place in oven and continue to cook for 3 to 4 minutes or to desired doneness. Set aside to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
