Oatmeal Wheat Bread (Bread Machine)

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp Flaxseed
  • 3/4 cup Old fashioned oats
  • 2 tbsp Mexican mesquite honey
  • 2 1/2 cups Bread flour
  • 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 1/4 cups Whole milk

Instructions

  1. Add milk, honey, oil and yeast to a bread machine. Add oats, flax seed, whole wheat flour and bread flour on top of wet ingredients.
  2. Lastly, add salt on top of flour to keep it away from the yeast in the bottom.
  3. Start bread machine on "whole grain" or "wheat" setting for a 2 lb. loaf and allow it to complete cycle.
  4. Optional Step: Before baking part of the cycle begins, brush top of loaf with melted butter and sprinkle 2 teaspoons of dry oats over the top to add texture.
