
Maple Cinnamon Sautéed Apples

Serves 4
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Coconut oil
- 2 1/2 cups Gala or Honeycrisp apples, diced or cubed small, approximately 1/4" to 1/2" dice
- 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Fine sea salt
- 1/4 cup Sugar free cinnamon maple syrup, or any sugar free maple syrup
- 1 tbsp Water
- 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
Instructions
- Set a medium-sized non-stick sauté pan over medium heat. Once pan is hot, add coconut oil.
- When oil is hot and has melted, add apples, cinnamon and salt. Sauté for 3 to 5 minutes or until apples just start to soften.
- Stir in maple syrup, water and vanilla and cook until apples are soft and sauce thickens to a caramel consistency, approximately 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat, allow to cool slightly and serve over anything from ice cream to pancakes.
- Chef's Note: Cover any leftovers with a tight fitting lid and refrigerate for up to 5 days.
