Low Carb Chicken Fried Steak

Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 lb Cube steaks
- 1 cup Half and Half
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Hot sauce
- 1 cup Texas Cajun Pecan Coating Mix
- 2 tsp Cajun seasoning, divided use
- 1/2 cup Canola Oil
- 2 tbsp Bake Haven Gluten Free Flour
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Ground black pepper
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
Instructions
- Pour half and half into a bowl and add Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning. Whisk to combine.
- Place steaks in half and half mixture and let set for 15 minutes, turning occasionally. Meanwhile, combine pecan coating mix and remaining Cajun seasoning in a medium bowl.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Remove steaks from half and half mixture and dip into pecan flour. Press to adhere the flour to the steak. Place carefully in hot oil and cook for 5-6 minutes per side.
- Remove to a plate and tent with foil to keep warm. Repeat with remaining steaks.
- Meanwhile, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. When melted add flour and stir to form a roux. Cook, stirring constantly for 2 minutes.
- Slowly stream in 1.5 cups of half and half, whisking constantly, until all is incorporated and whisk until mixture is smooth. Add salt and pepper and bring to a simmer until gravy thickens to desired consistency.
- Serve cream gravy over steaks and hot sauce on the side.
