Ham and Cheese Casserole

Unsaved Ham and Cheese Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tsp Unsalted butter
  • 12 Wheat bread
  • 10 oz Black forest ham
  • 2 cups Shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups Thin potato chips, jalapeno queso, crushed
  • 6 slices Fully Cooked Bacon, chopped
  • 6 oz Liquid egg
  • 1 cup Fat free Half & Half
  • 1/8 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1/8 tsp Ground Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375°F.
  2. Butter a 9 by 13 inch glass baking dish.
  3. Butter both sides of bread and layer 6 of them into the bottom of the baking dish, overlapping them as necessary but keep them even.
  4. Layer the slices of ham on top of the bread, then 6 slices of bread, cheese, potato chips and bacon.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat together eggs, half and half, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
  6. Pour over casserole to reach the top and bake for 45 minutes until brown and bubbly.
