Grilled Apple Dutch Baby

Unsaved Grilled Apple Dutch Baby

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Unsalted butter, cubed
  • 6 Medium Fresh Fuji Apples, peeled, sliced and cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 15.2 oz Yellow cake mix, prepared according to package directions

Instructions

  1. Heat grill to medium-high.
  2. Add cubed butter, apples, brown sugar, and vanilla to a cast iron skillet. Sprinkle salt over the top. Place on grill and allow apples to simmer several minutes in melted butter and brown sugar.
  3. Pour cake batter over hot apples then move skillet to one side of grill and lower heat on that side to low. Keep heat on the other side at medium-high.
  4. Close grill lid and cook cake until done (about 45 minutes). You may have some overflow.
  5. Remove from grill and cool 20 minutes before serving.
  6. Enjoy with H-E-B Creamy Creations 1905 Vanilla!
