8 min cook
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tsp Bagel not included spice blend
- 4 Frozen ahi tuna steaks, (about 1/3 lb. each)
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 4 tbsp Salted Butter
- 1 tsp Lemon(s), juice
- 2 tbsp Non pareil capers, drained and roughly chopped
Instructions
- Drizzle half of oil over tuna steaks. Rub to coat evenly. Season generously with seasoning to form a crust on both sides.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add remaining oil to pan. Gently place tuna steaks in pan. Sear on each side about 3 to 4 minutes each (or to desired cooking point). Seasoning crust should be light brown, not burned.
- Remove from pan and set aside. Add butter to a small sauce pan. Stir in capers and lemon juice, just to heat through. Pour over tuna and serve immediately.
- Chef's note: Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired.
