Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Spray an 8-inch square baking pan with non-stick cooking spray or line with aluminum foil.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Place a double boiler (a saucepan set over a pan of water) over medium heat. Add chocolate chips and stir often until chocolate is melted, about 3 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine sugar, mayonnaise, eggs, vanilla, and melted chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  5. Stir in flour mixture and walnuts until blended.
  6. Spread batter into prepared pan and bake on center oven rack for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted about an inch from the edge comes out clean. Do not overbake.
  7. Set on a wire rack to cool. To serve, cut into 16 brownies.
