  • 1 cup Silk Dairy Free Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1/2 cup Maple syrup, plus more as needed for serving
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp Sea salt
  • 1 tbsp Fresh orange zest
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 16 oz Bakery French bread, sliced approximately 2 inches thick, plus more as needed

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine yogurt, eggs, dairy free whipping cream, maple syrup, vanilla, salt, orange zest, and cinnamon. Blend until smooth and pour custard into a casserole dish.
  2. Dip a slice of bread in custard until fully soaked. Transfer to a plate. Repeat process with each additional slice, placing soaked bread onto the plate. Set aside.
  3. Place a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Spray pan with non-stick spray and place 2 to 3 slices of bread in the pan. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes per side or until nicely caramelized.
  5. Garnish with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.
  6. Chef's Note: Allow each slice of bread to soak for at least 1 to 2 minutes to fully soak.
