Classic Hummus

Ingredients

  • 15.5 oz Low sodium garbanzo beans, 1 can, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup Tahini paste
  • 1 Peeled garlic cloves, crushed, approximately 1/8 oz.
  • 2 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Ice cold water, plus more as needed for desired consistency

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except ice water in a food processor.
  2. Puree for about 30 seconds before slowly adding ice water. Continue to puree until hummus is smooth and creamy.
  3. Season to taste, place in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to a week.
  4. Chef's Note: This hummus is simply a blank canvas to add additional flavors like cumin, fresh herbs, hot peppers, etc.
