Blackberry Chipotle Rib Sauce

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Sweet Karoline Blackberries, 1 container washed thoroughly
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 7 oz Can chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1/2 cup White onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup Cold water
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Set a medium-sized pot over medium heat and add all ingredients along with a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Bring to come to a simmer.
  2. Once at a simmer, reduce heat to low and cook for 25 to 30 minutes or until liquid has reduced and mixture has thickened slightly.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Blend sauce until smooth using either an immersion or regular blender.
  4. Strain sauce through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds. Season to taste and cover sauce until ready to use. Refrigerate for up to 5 days.
  5. Slather over BBQ ribs before serving, or serve alongside grilled chicken or pork.
