  • 1/4 cup Maple syrup
  • 2 Large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups Unsweetened apple sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  2. In a large bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, allspice and cardamom.
  3. In a separate bowl using an electric mixer, cream butter, sugar and maple syrup together.
  4. Once butter sugar mixture is light and fluffy, begin beating eggs in one at a time until completely combined.
  5. Turn mixer to low speed and slowly add flour mixture into wet ingredients. Beat just until mixture is combined. Be careful not to over mix. Then miix in apple sauce.
  6. Pour into a well greased Bundt or loaf pan.
  7. Bake until toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean, about 55 minutes.
  8. Place on a wire rack and cool 10 - 15 minutes.
  9. Firmly hold a wire rack on top of pan and quickly invert cake onto rack. Cool completely before slicing.
